Beyond the exquisite flavors, what truly sets Sunflower Cafe apart is their exceptional customer care. As longtime patrons attest, the service here is genuinely heartfelt—whether it’s a manager going the extra mile to source an off-menu item or staff smoothly balancing a busy dining room with warmth and professionalism. The introduction of modern conveniences like iPad menus and tap-to-pay at the table only enhances this seamless experience without detracting from the welcoming, timeless charm.
While some guests have noted that the atmosphere can feel lively, almost hectic during peak times, it only adds to the authentic, community-driven vibe of this beloved Brooklyn staple. And despite a few critiques about pricing, the generous portions and consistent quality of every dish make Sunflower Cafe worth every penny.
In sum, Sunflower Cafe is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary institution that honors tradition while embracing innovation. Whether you’re craving a savory Israeli breakfast, a hearty salad, or an indulgent dessert, this spot promises a memorable meal infused with genuine hospitality and deeply satisfying flavors.
Amazing cafe! I was here approximately 14 years ago and had such a great experience that I always wanted to come back. I finally came back and was as impressed as I was years ago! Delicious wholesome food, generous portions, amazing service! I even mentioned an item to the manager that they didn’t carry and a few minutes he brought it to me from another store on the house!!! Very impressive! Will definitely be coming back again!
The food here is so good,I have eaten here maybe 10 times over the past 5 years and it's always been great, the service is mediocre depending on the server but it's never great, the atmosphere is also just blah but it's not terrible, but the food is that good I don't care,my only real gripe is that's it's WAY overpriced,it's not like say fries and a salad are included everything seems like you have to order it individually making it super expensive, but regardless the food is so good I just have to mention it cos this is a review Right ....Right!!.
Sunflower Café is a timeless favorite! They’ve been serving flavorful kosher food with excellent service for over 25 years — and impressively, both the taste and hospitality have remained just as good as day one. At the same time, they’ve kept up with the times. They accept tap-to-pay right at your table and use iPads for their menus, offering a smooth, modern dining experience. Delicious food, consistent quality, and forward-thinking service — that’s what keeps people coming back to Sunflower Café.
Went there today with my wife for a brunch and came away very impressed. The ambiance was hectic but charming and was full of people. The waiters were nice and the food was delivered very timely despite how full it was. Very often when going to restaurants that are old like sunflower the food starts getting worse as time goes on and chef gets lazy, however I can vouch that the food was fresh and delicious, very impressed considering the restaurant is over 20 years and has still not lost there touch. Personally I highly recommend the mozzarella sticks, they came with yummy goey cheese and didn’t harden like most mozzarella sticks! The omelette with Zatar pita was also great, it had a nice blend of acidity from the tomatoes which blended well with the goat cheese topping. Highly recommend and will come back!
Food was great Very nice service Venue looks nice Would definitely come back
